I personally think that trading away spare food in return for that much-needed, less common wood is a great deal. It would complete the trading cycle (there’s already a hut that trades wood for gold, and one that trades gold for food).
Food is essential, but there are easy ways to get it. Wood is pretty hard to acquire in my opinion, but that's probably because I always get the Mycology perk and take mushrooms from every meadow I see (also I've memorized the non lethal mushrooms so I have food all the time)
More upgrade points. Even one or two more would be amazing. Also a determined "final frontier", or a final objective to strive for. Maybe take inspiration from Lordz.io and have a large NPC central castle or tribe that you can beat.
